Classic Jewellery Design-Augustine Jewels

I recently discovered Augustine Jewels, an English Luxury Jewellery brand based in Notting Hill, masterminded by Expert Designer Alexandra Robson.

Alexandra studied Jewellery Design at Esmod School of Fashion in Paris before going to Cambridge University. After a consulting career as a Partner at Accenture she went back to her first love and studied Bespoke Jewellery Design at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) becoming an Accredited Jewellery Professional (AJP). She also trained with the GIA in diamond and coloured stone grading and is a certified member of the Nation Association of Jewellers. Alexandra has expertise in the field of coloured stones having access to specialist dealers in Aquamarines, Tanzanite, Rubies, Pearls, coloured Diamonds and other rare stones in London. She is therefore of great advice when it comes down to buying stones.

Augustine Jewels pride themselves on intricate and beautiful handmade jewellery. They only work with natural, ethically sourced gemstones that are handpicked for each piece. Their designs are hand drawn by Alexandra before they are transferred to CAD, allowing for a more fluid design process. All of their jewellery is handmade in London by the finest craftsmen.

The Augustine Jewels collections are each inspired by a luxury travel destination, from the South of France to Paris to Portofino. They choose their stones to mimic the colours of the location. For example, the South of France collection is comprised of Sky Blue Topaz, Amethyst (purple), Prasiolite (green), Citrine (yellow), Rose Quartz (pink) and Smoky Quartz (brown). The pastel colours capture the elegant calm of the South of France. Purple for the lavender fields, yellow for the sun, green for the grass, blue for the sea, and pink & brown for the sunset. Their tactile Parisian collection mimics the cobbled streets of Paris, with each nugget moving independently of the other.

I also love her recent butterfly collection, it is the ideal gift for a teenager, although I love wearing the bracelet too!

For bespoke pieces, Alexandra works closely with the client, looking to the stone for inspiration. She begins with a stone and some sketches and finish with an elegant piece of jewellery for you to pass down for generations.
She hand-draws designs for clients and her designs have been Shortlisted for Jewellery Designer of the Year 2017.
